HOOP is an all-volunteer organization. And we are always looking for more volunteers. You can always volunteer by clicking on the contact us link of our webite. But HOOP will also come to you. If you have a group interested in serving the homeless people in Indy, we can come to you to describe and discuss the opportunities. Presentations have been made at schools, churches, civic organizations and business organizations; describing both our work on the streets of Indianapolis and the people we serve.
We need help with all aspects of our operation. Purchasing food and supplies, running clothing and blanket drives, preparing food, organizing our storage areas, scheduling outings and training volunteers are all necessary activities in addition to distributing food and supplies to the homeless. If you have a small or large group, from a church, a club or a school and are looking for service opportunities, let us know.
HOOP has also had booths at various events in the community. This past weekend we had a booth at a local church’s “Different Kind of Giving” Fair. (See photo)
If your group or organization would like to provide an opportunity of service, we would be happy to attend.
